Job Summary:
The Porter is responsible for maintaining the appearance and organization of the dealership lot, assisting service and sales departments with vehicle movement, and providing excellent customer service by ensuring a clean, safe, and professional environment for customers and employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Move, park, and retrieve dealership and customer vehicles in a safe and timely manner.
Maintain the appearance of the dealership lot, showroom, and service drive.
Wash and vacuum vehicles as needed for delivery or display.
Assist service advisors with vehicle intake and delivery to customers.
Inspect vehicles for damage before and after movement, reporting any issues to management.
Maintain organization of vehicle inventory on the lot for display and accessibility.
Ensure that keys are properly tagged, stored, and accounted for.
Help customers with directions or assistance while on dealership property.
Support the service department by delivering vehicles to vendors or picking up parts as needed.
Follow all safety procedures and dealership policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and move around the dealership for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of cleaning equipment or vehicle tools.
Work Schedule:
Full-time or part-time schedule depending on dealership needs.
May include weekends and evenings.
Compensation
Compensation is based on experience and commensurate with Fortune 500 companies.
